What? Espousing Canadian or American values makes one Islamophobic?
How did that happen?
I’ll tell you.
Those of us who believe in the all-inclusive Judeo/Christian ethic have lost our tongues and courage under the onslaught of people like Jonathan Kay, Tabatha Southey, Gary Mason, Terry Glavin, Margaret Wente and everyone at the CBC, most of the main stream media outlets in America, particularly the New York Times and CNN.
Progressive journalists, academics and opiners have decided for us that talking about values-whether it is vetting for un-Canadian values or the reverse-Canadian values- or America values, automatically makes you a racist, xenophobic, white supremacist, Islamophobe.
These are the people preaching tolerance of others to the point that they insist we tolerate the intolerable:the intolerable ideology of Islam which is innately homophobic, misogynistic, xenophobic and particularly anti-semitic.
As Thomas Mann said:
“Tolerance becomes a crime when applied to evil.”
This Progressive attack really took hold in Canada after comments made by Kellie Leitch. And reported in of all places the JapanTimes!
“Leitch has been accused of being racist and targeting Muslims with her proposal to make every immigrant go through a face-to-face interview before letting them in. She denies those charges, and says her screening plan is aimed at ensuring each immigrant is a good fit for Canada.
‘Even if my colleagues are concerned about the backlash of the media or other elites, that’s okay with me because I’m quite comfortable … I don’t view it as racist in any way,’ said Leitch, a practicing Catholic from the traditionally conservative, oil-rich province of Alberta.
There is good reason for the Japan Times to report on this. Japan has dealt with Islam and all foreign cultures far differently from the West.
Today we are witness to intimidation by politicians, media and academics who have craftily equated “values” with “Islamophobia” while devaluing if not eliminating values that make democracy possible. Instead, these self-identified elites preach moral and cultural relativism which makes it possible for others to abuse our values- from freedom of speech, freedom of religion to freedom of assembly, in the name of Canadian values.
This is called suicide by democracy.
Despite the fact that a majority of Canadians agree with Ms Leitch, the Progressives are trying desperately to take us back to the time of the famous anthropologist Franz Boas who wrote in the mid-twentieth century that that all cultures are equal;there are no inferior or superior cultures. History has proven Boas completely wrong. The twentieth century was one of the most barbaric from Marxists to Nazis. And we are not doing all that well in the 21st.
And now, while facing Islamic intolerance of others, those of us with the courage to promote our values, that are part of our Canadian Constitution, are told that our values are Islamophobic! And, for that matter, so are we.
