National War Memorial, Ottawa

The time has come for Muslims in Canada to apologize to the rest of Canada for the way we live, now, always on the edge, fearing terrorist attacks at any time, but especially at happy places and events.  We are collectively fearful of being in crowds; remember Manchester and the Bataclan.

How did we get to this place where we prioritize the feelings and rights of Muslims over all other ethnic groups, including the indigenous, when Islam is unquestionably anathema to our Judeo/Christian values of life for which millions of people died to protect?

How did we get to a place where the mayor of Toronto, the largest and most diverse city in the world, apologizes for a protest against Muslims in  the Downtown Masjid Toronto mosque but does not tweet his disgust for the Jew hatred spewed in that same mosque?

This is not the Canada I know, where I grew up, where I raised my children. Our entire way of life has been drastically changed by Muslim terrorism. While Muslims demand that the rest of Canada collectively apologize for their hurt feelings, Muslims don’t apologize as a collective for their terror.

How many times do we have to hear that only a small number of Muslims are terrorists? How small? What percentage? During the month of Ramadan alone, the world witnessed 160 Islamic attacks in 29 countries, in which 1627 people were murdered and 1824 injured.

It wasn’t small enough to prevent the murder of Nathan Cirillo in 2014.

Other than the few dozen Muslims in Winnipeg, where were the Muslim apologies for the murder of Corporal Nathan Cirillo, 24, shot in the back as he stood ceremonial guard at the National War Memorial and Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent, 53, who was murdered in a hit-and-run by an Islamic-extremist in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec two days earlier?

Silence is collusion.

I attended Canada’s 150 birthday bash in Ottawa and witnessed the damage from Muslim terror. My country is under siege and Ottawa the capital was under lockdown.

Mayor Jim Watson of Ottawa said, “There’s no 100 per cent solution to terrorism. It’s always a wake-up call for us in roles of leadership that we have to be vigilant in the world we live in. A simple knife and a motor vehicle can be the new weapon of choice for a terrorist or for someone who wants to cause harm to people in a community.”

Why did he not identify this terrorism as Muslim? You cannot defeat an enemy you will not name.

We have been officially under siege from Islam since 9/11 but have managed to keep our heads firmly embedded in the sand. This despite the fact we had many warning shots over the bow over the previous decades.

A suicide bombing of the U.S. Marine Barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, in 1983 by Hezbollah that killed 241 American servicemen; Four separate attacks in Lebanon, including the 1984 bombing of the U.S. Embassy in Beirut, by Hezbollah that killed 14 people; Various kidnappings in Lebanon in the 1980s by Hezbollah, one that ended with the hanging of a U.S. Lieutenant Colonel and others ending in release after brutal and traumatizing captivity; Three bombings in the 1990s by terrorist organizations found to be supported and funded by Iran that took place in Israel, Saudi Arabia and Argentina; And the bombing by Hamas of Hebrew University in Jerusalem in 2002 that killed Marla Bennett, a 24-year-old student from California.

And let us never forget the 1992 and 1994 bombings of the Jewish community centre in Argentina.

The entire Ottawa downtown core was barricaded. First line of defence was the officers positioned on the rooftops, trained in sniper fire. Then the typical barrier that one sees closing off streets, manned of course by police. Often there were chain-link fences.

Then there were dump trucks strategically placed to prevent a Muslim terrorist from driving over the celebrants.

Concrete barriers were put up beyond the trucks-zig-zag to prevent a car from driving straight through and murdering innocent Canadians. And then there were the bomb disposal trucks.

Then came the real security set up for those who wanted to get close to the Parliament buildings. I didn’t try until July 2. But I heard the horror stories.   Hours waiting in line to get to the security pavilion where each bag was checked.  Think about that; thousands of people waiting for each bag to be opened and examined. Then the next stage, the wand used to check for metal.  Again for everyone. The wand dinged for me. And of course I had to have an extra pat down. That it was my underwire bra did not matter. The woman knew but she had to check.   She had to check a 66 year old woman? Yes, because in Canada, the land where diversity is more important than anything else, we do not profile anyone for anything; we are all potential terrorists. If we knew for a fact that aliens had come to earth and they were pink with purple polka dots would we still check everyone?

And why is that, again?  Because the world is being held hostage by Muslim terrorism in two ways: one the terror acts themselves; and two, the fear of that terror. The idea of terror is as debilitating as the terror itself; terror that comes directly from Islam, the ideology that promotes xenophobia, homophobia, misogyny and virulent antisemitism.  Islam an ideology that will never be severed from religion.

Yet, politicians from local to federal bend over backwards to apologize to Muslim communities; communities who will not acculturate let alone assimilate; for any hurt feelings they may have endured as a result of living in a country that used to promote free speech.

Remember the Charlie Hebdo massacre? Over cartoons that hurt the sensibilities of Muslims. And this hurt continues as justification for attacking others.

And what did the West do? We apologized. And now social media is ever vigilant to ensure that nothing is said or written that may hurt the feelings of Muslims.

Giulio Meotti wrote

“,,,radical Islam has been able to horrify the West into submission. We have paralysed ourselves. We censor the cartoons, the graphic photos of the terrorists’ victims and even the faces and names of the jihadists. The Islamic terrorists, on the other hand, are not publicity-seekers; they are soldiers ready to die and kill in the name of what they care about.

“The Western establishment censors images of our enemies’ crimes while giving prominence to our “guilt”. The French government censored the “gruesome torture” of the victims at the Bataclan Theater, who were castrated, disemboweled and had their eyes gouged out by the Islamist terrorists. It was a mistake: it was in the public interest to know exactly what enemy we are facing.

“The European Commission against Racism and Intolerance then told the British press it should not report when terrorists are Muslim.”

We, in Canada, have gone further. We have proffered the grandest  apologia, our greatest  mea culpa  ever: Motion 103 which incorporates the statement dictated by Muslim leadership:

“ Since its founding more than 1400 years ago, Muslims have contributed, and continue to contribute, to the positive development of human civilization. This encompasses all areas of human endeavors including the arts, culture, science, medicine, literature, and much more.”

Please share with me the positive contributions of Islam in just the past 100 years. All I see is oil and terrorism; one Muslim tribe against another and Muslims against the West.

The Motion includes the statement:

“’These violent individuals do not reflect in any way the values or the teachings of the religion of Islam. In fact, they misrepresent the religion. We categorically reject all their activities. They in no way represent the religion, the beliefs and the desire of Muslims to co-exist in peace with all peoples of the world.”

If that is true, then please explain these “abbreviated” statements made by your leaders.

ICNA (Islamic Circle of North America) Canada is an Islamic nation-wide organization striving

“to build an Exemplary Canadian Muslim Community” by “total submission to Him [Allah] and through the propagation of true and universal message of Islam.”

Located at 391 Burnhamthorpe Rd. East, Oakville, Ontario, ICNA Canada emphasizes that

“the propagation of true and universal message of Islam is only possible in Canada when whole Canadian Muslim Community transformed into a Dawah community by practicing and propagating the true Islamic Way of Life. With the vision of building an exemplary Canadian Muslim community it is very important to spread the word of Islam…”

In a series of lectures on the “Minor Signs of Qayamaah – The Last Day”, Toronto Imam Said Rageah said that the Muslims will eventually defeat the Christians and take over Rome, the Capital of Italy where the Vatican City is located.

On Family Day (February 5, 2016), the Alberta Islamic Welfare Association headed by Shaban Sherif Mady hosted  Syrian refugees and their families for a social gathering with members of the local Muslim community in Edmonton. He emphasized the merits of the people of Greater Syria in the eyes of Allah for defeating the Crusaders and the Tatars and ended with a supplication to Allah. The following is an excerpt from the supplication (originally in Arabic):

O AllahO Allah!Destroy your enemies, the enemies of religion (Islam). O Allah!

Mostafa Hanout, Imam at Masjid Toronto mosque, recited on Ramadan 2016 the following supplication:

“O Allah give victory to the oppressed Muslims everywhere. O Allah give victory to the oppressed Muslims everywhere.

On December 23, 2016 Sheikh Muhammad bin Musa Al Nasr (محمد بن موسى آل نصر) led the Friday prayer at Dar Al-Arqam mosque (Mosquée Dar Al-Arqam) in Montreal. In his sermon, Sheikh Muhammad bin Musa Al Nasr, a Jordanian cleric, called the Jews the “most evil of mankind” and “human demons…What is the disease of the Jews?

Sheikh Abdulqani Mursal, imam at Masjid Al Hikma mosque in Toronto (36 Colville Rd, North York – Lawrence and Keele), explains that the fate of the Jews is destined to be killed by the Muslims.

At the end of his sermons at Al Andalous Islamic Center in Montreal, Quebec Imam Sayed AlGhitawi (سيد الغتاوي) recited supplications to Allah to support the mujahideen (Muslims who engage in jihad) in Palestine and to inflict total destruction on the Jews. The following are excerpts from Sayed AlGhitawi’s supplications in 2014 (originally in Arabic):

O Allah, give victory to our brothers who engage in Jihad for Your sake in everywhere,… O Allah, destroy the accursed Jews. O Allah, show us the black day you inflict on them. …O the most Merciful. O Allah, make their children orphans and their women widows.

Ayman Elkasrawy, Imam at Masjid Toronto mosque recited the following supplications during Ramadan:

“O Allah! We ask you… [to give us] victory over the enemies. O Allah! Raise the standing of Islam and the Muslims. O Allah! Give victory (help) to your oppressed slaves all over the world, east to west. O Allah! Give victory (help) to your slaves who believe in the oneness of Allah, O the Lord of the Worlds! O Allah! Destroy the criminals. O Allah! Destroy anyone who inflicts injustice on your slaves, O the Lord of the Worlds! O Allah! Count their number; slay them one by one and spare not one of themO Allah!Do not defer [it] from them. O Allah! Seize them with the seizure of One Mighty, Omnipotent [referring to a Quranic verse that deals with the punishment Allah inflicted on Pharaoh and his people].”

Dr. Iqbal Massod Al-Nadvi is the Amir (President) of Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) Canada and is also serving as Chairperson of Canadian Council of Imams (Canada’s top Imam). The book “Riyad us Saliheen(“The Gardens of the Righteous”) which appears on his ICNA Canada site adds modern commentary to the verses from the Qur’an and hadith. The following are excerpts from the book which deal with the question whether Islam is compatible with the values of Western democracy. (The answer is…NO!)

“[Hadith]: 673. Abu Bakrah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard Messenger of Allah (PBUH) saying, “He who insults the rulers, Allah will insult him.”

Commentary: To affront and degrade the ruler means to disobey him and to by-pass his orders. This impairs his power, honour and dignity. “Believers have been told to obey and support rulers for the sake of national interest and welfare, understanding that they desist from committing an overt disbelief and maintain congregation Salat(salat al-jama’ah) and other duties of religion.

Congregational prayer is a symbol of the power of Muslims, closeness of hearts and their solidarity in their unity of purpose. It eliminates discord, strikes fear in the hearts of enemies, upsets hypocrites, and is a thorn in the eyes of the malevolent.Congregational prayer is a demonstration of presence on the scene, and the link between the Imam and the ummah.

In other words:

The political system of Islam is totally incompatible with western democracy.”

The concept of government party and the opposition is alien to Islam.”

All belong to one Ummah with only one goal and pursue the same aims and objects of Islamic guidelines!

And if that is not enough, we have opened our secular schools to Muslim prayer on Fridays with the possibility of prayers every day, should the Muslim students make that demand.  How does this help acculturate Muslims to our western values?

These are the people to whom we are apologizing? These are the people for whom we are passing a special motion that will discourage criticism of their ideology?

No other group of immigrants in our history has made such demands on Canadians. It seems they were grateful for being able to come here. I don’t recall any Motions for the hurt feelings of the Irish or the Jews who walked down the streets of Toronto adorned with signs that read “No Irish, Jews or Dogs.” I don’t remember any motions for the Chinese, the Japanese, Hindus or Sikhs.

We drove to and from Ottawa on the Highway of Heroes where we are reminded about the ultimate sacrifice made by members of our military following in the footsteps of millions of Canadians who fought against evil ideologies like fascism and communism and Nazism before them. Young men and women who died protecting our way of life, our freedoms.  Freedoms that are accorded to less than 45% of the world and that number is dropping.

There are signs along the Highway of Heroes that read:
