What happened to Motion 103?
Motion 103 regarding Islamophobia passed in March 2017 and was turned over to the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage for study to report back with recommendations that could be used to create legislation within 240 days. Conservative MP Scott Reid rose in opposition to the motion, saying its focus “is on the undefined term Islamophobia rather than on protecting Muslims as individuals.
Zain Esseghaier, spokesperson for the Muslim Society of P.E.I said “As Muslim I welcome any criticism of my religion as long as people don’t decide to do me harm,” He added that the vote is an important step towards educating Canadians on Islam. “If we do not know something we tend to fear it and reject it.” I couldn’t agree more. He also pointed out that he hopes the motion will bring about more concrete action from the government.
What does that mean? More concrete action?
Meanwhile, I have heard nothing about these discussions. Who is on the committee? Who is speaking before the committee? What has been shared? Where is the CBC; Canada’s taxpayer funded media outlet that reaches across the country from coast to coast to coast from the largest city to the smallest hamlet? Not one word. Not a peep. On Feb. 8, 2017, B’nai Brith Canada filed a complaint with Montreal police and the RCMP regarding sermons made by Quebec Imam Sayed AlGhitawi (سيد الغتاوي) at the al-Andalous Islamic Center in Montreal.He has recited prayers that include the following supplications.
O Allah, destroy the accursed Jews
O Allah, show us the black day you inflict on them
O Allah, show us the wonders of your power and ability inflicted on them,
O the most Merciful O Allah, show us how you do to them what you did to [the peoples] of ʿĀd and Thamud [ancient peoples that perished by Allah because they didn’t heed the warnings of the prophets]…
O Allah, make their children orphans and their women widows
On March 20, 2017 B’nai Brith Canada filed a complaint with the Montreal police regarding a sermon made by Sheikh Muhammad bin Mus Al Nasr.
It was Imam Ayman Elkasrawy who said to “kill the Jews” at the Masjid Toronto mosque with a few hateful words for Christians (polytheists).
“O Allah! We ask you… [to give us] victory over the enemies. O Allah! Raise the standing of Islam and the Muslims. O Allah! Give victory (help) to your oppressed slaves all over the world, east to west. O Allah! Give victory (help) to your slaves who believe in the oneness of Allah, O the Lord of the Worlds! O Allah! Destroy the criminals. O Allah! Destroy anyone who inflicts injustice on your slaves, O the Lord of the Worlds! O Allah! Count their number; slay them one by one and spare not one of them. O Allah! Do not defer [it] from them. O Allah! Seize them with the seizure of One Mighty, Omnipotent [referring to a Quranic verse that deals with the punishment Allah inflicted on Pharaoh and his people].
[O Allah!] Give us victory over the disbelieving people… O Allah! Give victory to Islam and raise the standing the Muslims. And humiliate the polytheism and polytheists. O Allah! Give victory (help) to your slaves who believe in the oneness of Allah, O the Lord of the Worlds! O Allah! Give them victory over the criminal people. O Allah! Destroy anyone who killed Muslims. O Allah! Destroy anyone who displaced the sons of the Muslims. O Allah! Count their number; slay them one by one and spare not one of them. O Allah! Purify Al-Aqsa Mosque from the filth of the Jews! O Allah! Purify Al-Aqsa Mosque from the filth of the Jews!
On its official website, ICNA (Islamic Circle of North America) Canada shares with its members and followers the book “Riyad us Saliheen” (“The Gardens of the Righteous” رياض الصالحين) compiled by Imam Zakaruya Yahya Bin Sharaf An-Nawawi, a Sunni Shafi’ite jurist and hadith scholar who lived in 13th century which contains modern commentary to the verses from the Qur’an and hadith. These books are available in Downtown Toronto.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah(PBUH) said, “The Last Hour will not come until the Muslims fight against the Jews, until a Jew will hide himself behind a stone or a tree, and the stone or the tree will say: `O Muslim, there is a Jew behind me. Come and kill him,’ but Al-Gharqad tree will not say so, for it is the tree of the Jews.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].”
“Commentary: Gharqad is a thorny plant which is well-known in the area of Palestine. Allah can bestow the power of speech to whatever thing He likes. When Allah wills, He will give mastery to the Muslims. He will help them even by means of plants and stones which will assist the Muslims against the Jews by informing them about the whereabouts of the Jews.”

And there is no shortage of Muslims yearning to murder Jews. “Martyrdom for the sake of Allah is an ideal that is viewed as a supreme lofty ideal.”
Syed Hassan Mujtaba Rizvi, Pakistani born Shiite cleric who grew up in Canada has made these statements on Islam:

The book “Riyad us Saliheen” (“The Gardens of the Righteous”) also states:
“The political system of Islam is totally incompatible with western democracy.”
“The concept of government party and the opposition is alien to Islam.”
“All belong to one Ummah with only one goal and pursue the same aims and objects of Islamic guidelines!”
Shaykh Muhammad Sa’id Ramadan al-Buti until his recent death, was the leading Islamic scholar in Syria, professor and a retired Dean at the College of Islamic Law at Damascus University. He is the author of Jurisprudence of the Prophetic Biography, regarded as one of the best Prophetic biographies written in the 20th century. He wrote:

Modern-day Islamic scholar, Ibrahim Sulaiman, says submission and peace can be very different concepts, even if a form of peace is often brought about through forcing others into submission.
“Jihad is not inhumane, despite its necessary violence and bloodshed, its ultimate desire is peace which is protected and enhanced by the rule of law.” Armed responses are only permitted when all peaceful possibilities have failed. And once armed resistance begins it doesn’t stop “until the war lays down its burden” as Allah has mentioned in the Qur’an 47″
In Saskatchewan, Muhammad Mustafa Mustaan preaches, “Democracy is nothing else but something which gives you the right to choose anything. The biggest shirk [Arabic term for idolatrous and heretical polytheism] is when you give your own self the right to choose whatever you want. So, democracy, in no terms, is compatible with Islam.” He spoke in Saskatoon public schools, including Walter Murray Collegiate Institute, a high school of 1,300 students
Yasir Naqvi, Attorney general of Ontario, said in a statement that in a multicultural and inclusive province like Ontario, the promotion of hatred stands in direct opposition to our fundamental values of equality and diversity. Hate divides people and communities…Hate crimes are, by their very nature, serious offences because their impacts can be devastating, spreading from the individual, through the social fabric of our communities and society as a whole.” Hmmmm.
If the aim of leading Muslims in Canada is to pursue the aims and objects of Islamic guidelines, here in Canada, and if Islam is not compatible with the west, then what is the point of Motion 103? What more does the government want from Canadians that is not already demanded from us by the Charter of Rights and Freedoms?
