Toxic Masculinity: the nerve of some men!
For those of you who have followed me, you know I have come to love Country Western Music. It’s not just the musical notes or the sound of the voices, it’s the lyrics. Country Western truly does capture the real world.
The one before CRT and DIE and Woke Culture.
The one before Feminism that destroyed motherhood. Gloria Steinem explained that the women’s movement opened her eyes to the fact that being childless was a choice she could make!
The one before psychologists and psychiatrists defined toxic masculinity.
Our woke culture has done a disservice to men and women. We have belittled mothers and attacked strong men. And look what happened. Look around. Fewer women are having children. Why? Well, what do you expect when you demean motherhood to the point that so many women are celebrating abortion. What do you expect when you belittle men? Call them toxic?
I am still recovering from the 2024 America election and women screaming for abortion rights – as if they were going to be living in the times of back room abortion. I remember the screaming in the 2016 election. Trump will take away your right to an abortion!!! I remember the January 21, 2017 Women’s March, the biggest national demonstration in history. But the marches didn’t just take place in Washington. Oh no. All over America and around the world in the name of gender and pay equality, LGBTQ and civil rights, affordable health care, environmental awareness, and reproductive freedom. Seems reproductive freedom is necessary so women can go into the workforce – and flip burgers and let others raise whatever children they do have.
How dare any man glorify a pregnant wife? The nerve! How dare men want children!
I am sharing with you Brett Young’s song: Lady.
Trigger warning.
Brett Young is a toxic male and family man!
This should be one of the iconic songs of our time. A reminder of the beauty of family and the strength of real men and real women. Strong men and strong women – equal but different.
Truly an homage to toxic masculinity. If only we could bring it back.
Here is a man, a father to be, talking to his baby girl in utero. So excited to be a father and yet telling his daughter about her wonderful mother.
From 2020
I remember when I first heard your heartbeat
It had only been eight weeks
Standing there, starin’ at that screen was the
First time you ever scared me
God knows I don’t know
Exactly what I’m doin’, but
Good news, we got her to get through it
I hope you look just like your mama
And love her like I do
You’ll see close to perfect patience
If you watch her every move
You can always run to daddy
You’ll always be my baby, but
Look at her, baby girl
And you’ll learn
How to be a lady
Just how to be a lady
Mm-mm
I can make you laugh ’til you cry
But she can make your tears dry, and
When you get your heart broke by the wrong guy
She can make it right
I hope you look just like your mama
And love her like I do
You’ll see close to perfect patience
If you watch her every move
You can always run to daddy
You’ll always be my baby, but
Look at her, baby girl
And you’ll learn
How to be a lady
Mm-mm
Just how to be a lady
Oh
She’ll hear you
She’ll hold you
She’ll help you through
She’ll fix you
And me too
I hope you look just like your mama
And love her like I do (love her like I do)
You’ll see close to perfect patience
If you watch her every move (every move)
You can always run to daddy
You’ll always be my baby, but
Look at her, baby girl
And you’ll learn
How to be a lady
Just how to be a lady
The nerve! So toxic! So masculine! A protector!
I truly believe the world will be a better place when the toxic men return and love and care for their toxic women, who want to raise a family.
