At what point in time does journalism move from unethical to illegal?

When does First Amendment protected hate speech become hate speech inciting an imminent threat of death to the president of the United States of America by the word or by the sword?

It is the best of times. It is the worst of times. Today in America it is the worst of times. Like Samuel anointing David the media had anointed Hillary as Queen, sorry President, long before the people voted. And they are not happy. The MSM, in collusion with social media, all a twitter are attempting a coup. The media is colluding to dump Trump. The media whose one job is to report facts, not make them up, not selectively remove some and keep others to fit a particular narrative, have demeaned and denigrated, dissected and psychoanalysed their President (well, not theirs; they wanted someone else, and are very angry with America for not voting the way the said), and have declared him demented.  Ana Navarro CNN political commentator and Republican strategist tweeted “Only possible defensible explanation for Trump’s disgusting, unpresidential, narcissistic behavior, would be early-on-set dementia. Maybe” and repeated it on TV.

They have brought on past members of government who have stated their fear of Trump having the nuclear codes. Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper voiced his concern about President “In a fit of pique he decides to do something about Kim Jong Un, there’s actually very little to stop him,” Clapper told CNN’s Don Lemon, referencing North Korea’s leader. “The whole system is built to ensure rapid response if necessary. So there’s very little in the way of controls over exercising a nuclear option, which is pretty damn scary.” And then added “I really question his ability to be — his fitness to be — in this office, and I also am beginning to wonder about his motivation for it.”

And after all that they cry that the leaders of other nations have no trust in Trump. Isn’t there an expression about a pot and a black kettle?

Where were the media when Ms. Clinton disappeared for days from political stumping while Trump crisscrossed America?  She said she was busy preparing for the debates. Yes, but she had been given some questions by members of the media. And when the media found out, their response? Meh. If Trump had been given the questions…?

I stayed up to the wee hours of the morning of the election and watched the faces of those who had assured America that Hillary would be the first female President crumbled. Some even cried.

And a vision of Walter Cronkite came to me.The day he announced the assassination of John Kennedy. It is burnished in my brain. He took off his glasses and wiped them with a cloth as he glanced at the clock to his right so that he would be sure to get the time correct. He announced the death of his President. No crumbling of face.Ne tears. No rending of clothing. He was a true journalist.

Consumers of news can question statements made. But the real problem, today, are the statements not made. We cannot question the presence of an absence. For me, the ultimate example of fake news is the video of President Trump and his wife being greeted by the Polish President Andrzej Duda and his wife. Main stream media posted a video showing the wife of the Polish President walking right by Trump as if snubbing him, to greet Mrs. Trump. And that was how it was left. That clip went viral.  Here is the link to Newsweek with the initial video they shared. Then later added an update. They knew when they posted the video that it was fake.

President Andrzej Duda shared a tweet “Contrary to some surprising reports my wife did shake hands with Mrs. and Mr. Trump @POTUS after a great visit. Let’s FIGHT FAKE NEWS.” Right of centre outlets showed the entire clip and explained that Polish protocol calls for the wife of the PM to say hello to the wife of the President before greeting the President. The damage had been done. By the media. First for showing an edited clip, and second for not explaining protocol.

Here is a list of “Fake News” reports.

This is without question an attempt by American media to promote a coup; with their weapon of choice: unethical reporting; half-truths, missing facts and colluding with professors and politicians who cannot abide by the American people’s choice of President, Donald Trump. They are the leading cause of division in America. America has a way of removing a President. It is called elections.

Can you imagine how history would record this if successful? Media taking down a democratically, duly, legally elected President because their anointed one lost. How could America ever be a light unto the nations ever again if the media succeeds at this take down?
