The aftermath of Sandy Hook Elementary has arrived. A town that was visited upon by fire and brimstone, vowing to put the needs of their children first, has had a change of heart. Parents of the child who hid under the dead bodies of her schoolmates, have decided to launch a law suit against the school for not preventing the tragedy, which of course has scarred this child for life. The school should have known better and have been better prepared for a mentally unstable young man to come to the school with his mother’s semiautomatic weapon of mass human destruction and go on a killing rampage. How should they have known this?  Well, it’s America so I guess they should have known.

The family is suing for an amount of money that will bankrupt the town, the county and perhaps the state. It seems the collective pain that was shared by the country and people all over the world is not enough. Talk of gun control that has been extolled by the vast majority is no longer centre stage. No. Money talks. By pursuing this path, that family has lost its interest in the greater good for the town. The family wants its pound of flesh.By instituting the lawsuit they are in essence agreeing with Wayne LaPierre of the NRA and want armed guards at every door in every school in America to prevent this from happening again. As if armed guards will prevent inexplicable horror.
