There is a sickness in America in the politically correct atmosphere where crude remarks frighten people more than the corrupt actions of a leader. The Republican leadership (mostly men) is turning on Trump for words while Democrats (mostly women) are circling the wagons around Hillary despite the fact that she has shown gross ineptitude in policy and implementation of that policy and an inclination to eviscerate women who accused her husband of rape and assault. These reactions, ladies and gentlemen are the end result of feeling-based teachings-of gender studies and the deconstruction of culture. We stopped teaching our children about the fundamentals needed to protect a fragile system of government; democracy. Among other things democracy must have an ethical media to hold the actions of government and institutions to account.

There was a time when journalists and editors wrote about the serious issues of the time. Reported them-not opined about them. Kept their political ideology off the page. Not anymore. Unethical reporting is now the norm. And the losers are the American people who decades ago had people like Chet Huntley and David Brinkley and Walter Cronkite to whom to turn for the news; not salacious gossip or distractions from the serious issues of the day. The issues facing America, the free world are serious. This election in America will determine the path taken for decades. This election affects the path America will take because the President will be appointing Supreme Court Judges who will interpret new laws based on their understanding of the Constitution.

There are two clear but different paths outlined by Hillary Clinton and the Democrats-funded by George Soros, and Donald Trump-apparently beholden to no one. He is so independent that he is also a danger to Republicans who have become accustomed to the public trough for their livelihood.

There was shock worldwide when Britain left the European Union. I have to admit I wasn’t surprised. Those who had buried loved ones defending Britain from the Fascist Nazis realized that they were losing their independence to a non-elected government and that their country was allowing immigrants into their space who not only don’t believe in democracy but promote Islam, a culture that is diametrically opposed to the Magna Carta.

Those concerns are in America. Trump wants to pull back from globalization and open borders. He talks about the needs of the average Americans. He speaks to their fears and those fears are legitimate despite the attempts by the select few to label those of us who believe that the life we have known is in danger of devolution as racist, xenophobic, fear-mongering Islamophobes. He talks about the needs of the average American. He believes in greater security and considering Islamic terror-and it is Islamic, and the Muslims committing this terror are proud of it-more security is required. America is not beefing up security because of the Amish.

We now know, thanks to WikiLeaks and the latest emails regarding her Wall Street speeches, that the Democratic contender, Hillary Clinton has been lying to the people, over and over. “They provide yet more evidence that Mrs. Clinton is pro-open-trade and sympathetic to Wall Street interests, despite her protestations otherwise. They also reveal a decidedly middle-of-the-road, pragmatic political attitude that won't sit well with the populist wing of her own party.”  Yet this serious issue of deceit has been overshadowed by the media whose dislike of Trump-because he has had the courage to call them out for their unethical practices and have decided that reporting on male oriented bar-room, locker room bravado, is more important than actions.

Sadly, these so-called journalists have learned that salacious obfuscates. It speaks to their contempt for American citizens; that they are so ignorant that gutter gossip is more important to them-will sway their vote-rather than responding to the issues that are so serious, today. And sadly it speaks to Clinton’s team who spends their time looking in the dumpster rather than defending their policies-policies that a vast majority of Americans have clearly stated they find wanting.

America you are being played as are we in Canada by the political elite who make their living off the public purse and the sycophantic media who are promoting the policies that were reported long ago by a Roman writer who deplored the declining heroism of Romans after the Roman Republic ceased to exist and the Roman Empire began: “Two things only the people anxiously desire —bread and circuses.” The government kept the Roman populace happy by distributing free food and staging huge spectacles.
