B’nai Brith Canada, one of Canada’s most important Jewish agencies, shared the fact that 2017, the last year of an anti-Semitic audit, was the worst year in Canada for Jew hating incidents.

B’nai Brith Canada’s Annual Audit of Antisemitic Incidents reports that 2017 was the second consecutive year in which record numbers were reached. The authoritative study on antisemitism in Canada, the Audit recorded 1,752 incidents, a 1.4 per cent overall increase nationally compared to 2016.

It was in antisemitic vandalism, however, where there was a whopping national increase of 107 per cent, reaching levels unseen in Canada since 2013. Homes, schools, parks and highways were defaced by Nazi graffiti and antisemitic epithets, including swastikas and hate signs suggesting “Hitler Was Right,” “Jewry Must Perish,” and “Die Jew Bitch.”

My question: Why is B’nai Brith writing about antisemitism all over the world but barely a word about Jew hatred in Canada?

B’nai Brith has not published any original content about new expressions of antisemitism in Canada  since October 31, 2018.

The most recent report by BB (B’nai Brith) was about Malaysia. Israelis were denied entry to participate in the Para Olympics.

Other recent reports dealt with the legal status of Jewish refugees from Islamic countries, BB’s call upon Europe to follow Canada’s example in labelling Hezbollah a terrorist organization, urging the UN to condemn Hamas, Antisemitism in Europe and UN’s failure to pass anti-Hamas resolution.

Condemning antisemitism around the world is important; but for a Canadian Jewish agency Jew hatred, here, is more important. And with the rise in Jew hatred from the left, B’nai Brith needs to speak up.

Here are a few examples of recent reports by research centres that were ignored by the B’nai Brith website:

Have we not yet learned from the fear of Jew hatred prior to WWII that silence is collusion? Jewish groups feared talking about the Jew hatred; fear of backlash. Well isn’t that what we have now? Fear of backlash from Muslim organizations; from government and media because of that non-binding Motion 103? Despite the fact that no one could come up with a definition of Islamophobia it has been understood to be the irrational fear of Islam. Irrational? Not for Jews.

The Jewish people have a rational fear of Islam. Just open the links I provided and read the hate for the Jews from leading Imams. Hate that is shared here in Canada and all over the world. It is the same hate as the hate from the Nazis.

The time has come to repeal Islamophobia –the fear of insulting Islam and replace with freedom of speech.
