On December 4, 2023 CTV news anchor Omar Sachedina reported that the Rally by Jews in Ottawa was “in support of the war.”
Omar Sachedina is a Canadian television journalist and anchor for Bell Media. He is the Chief News Anchor and Senior Editor for CTV‘s national evening newscast CTV National News since September 5, 2022.
I reached out to CTV to ask about his statement. Not surprised – I did not hear back.
Sachedina calls himself a journalist. Is he? What facts did he have that led him to state that the rally was in support of the war? Or maybe he was just trying to put the war in “context,” the Jew hating context, as we recently saw from the Presidents of the Poison Ivy league Universities in America.
Here is some context for CTV. The Muslim view of Jews and war.
Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saying: ‘You (i.e. Muslims) will fight against the Jews and you will gain victory over them. The stones will (betray them) saying: ‘O ‘Abdullah (i.e. slave of Allah)! There is a Jew hiding behind me; so kill him.’ 1 This Hadith was reported by Al-Bukhari.
Now, that is support for genocidal war!
But wait…there is more.
This report from CTV Toronto. The Lighting of the Menorah. But your “journalists” thought it would be a good idea to show scenes from Gaza. Why? To what end? Demean the Jewish holiday? Demean the Jews? Portray Jews as evil war mongers?
Ahh, not to worry. There was a “heartfelt” apology from CTV News anchor Zuraidah Alman:
“We mistakenly aired images of the war in the Middle East while reporting on the beginning of Hanukkah. We are deeply sorry that this occurred during our coverage of this important and special event.”
Right. It was a mistake. How can it be a mistake? Someone had to edit the video to put those images in the newscast. How many other videos had been edited “by mistake”? The news anchor should be fired.
There must come a time when fake news, be it the sin of omission or the sin of commission, is called out and repercussions result. Fake News journalists are destroying freedom. They are promoting hate. If Sachedina cannot share the facts that led him to make the statement that the rally Ottawa was “in support of the war,” he must be fired; on set, so all can see.
I was at the rally. I stood with Jews and non-Jews calling for the return of the hostages; sharing the horrific stories of children taken hostage and murdered. No one called for war. No one. Yet I asked CTV to please quote all statements made by the speakers that led Omar Sachedina and CTV to report that the rally was in favour of the war.
I stood beside a man who blew the Shofar. If Sachedina had done his due diligence and learned about the shofar blowing, he would know that this rally had nothing to do with war and everything to do with God and Torah.
“The shofar summons us to the feeling of humility before God’s majesty and might, which are manifested by all things and by which our own lives are constantly surrounded.”

Have CTV or Sachedina said anything about the genocidal call of Muslims to destroy Israel when they chant “Palestine will be free from the river to the sea?”
So who made the statement that the rally was “in support of the war”?
Was it the 95 year old Holocaust survivor?
Was it Raquel Look, mother of Alexandre who was butchered by Hamas?
Was it Liberal MP Anthony Housefather?
Was it Conservative deputy leader Melissa Lantsman?

Large pro-Israel rally on Parliament Hill decries antisemitism
“Supporters of Israel and prominent Jewish groups rallied Monday on Parliament Hill, calling for an end to antisemitic violence in Canada and for solidarity with Israel.“
“Speakers at the rally called for Canadians to speak out for Israel’s right to exist and its need to defend itself against terror. They are also calling on the international community to push for the release of hostages held by Hamas.”
“The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs, which organized the rally, said it aimed to show collective strength in the face of what it calls staggering antisemitism.
“Speakers referred to incidents in Canada such as shots being fired at Jewish schools, a Molotov cocktail being thrown at a Jewish community centre and a bomb threat against a high school.”
Muslim barbarians entered Israel illegally during a ceasefire and butchered Jews – men, women and children, and the world turned on Israel within a few days blaming Israel for the attack – for she is an occupier – they declare.
This was Resistance, they said. Here take a look at that resistance Not only that, but so many want to accuse Israel of a genocide – equate the Jews with the Nazis when the Muslims themselves said before October 7 that they want “to finish what Hitler started.”
The world will not forgive Jews for living and thriving.
The greatest of all blood libels is the accusation that Israel is an occupier.
Muslims have been colonizers and occupiers of Israel for more than 1000 years. There are 195 countries in the world. Fifty are Muslim only. One is Jewish. That one Jewish state is surrounded by 22 Muslim countries – but Israel is the occupier? There are 8 million Jews in Israel. There are no Jews in the surrounding Muslim countries. All were ethnically cleansed in 1948. None are still refugees. There are 315 million Muslims surrounding Israel-yet she is the occupier? Israel is a war monger?
How is this blood libel any different from the ones from the Middle Ages when Jews were accused of killing Christian children for their blood for Matza? When Jews were prosecuted, persecuted, pogromed, expelled, or put on fire? And now Muslims accuse Jews of harvesting organs form Muslim children-when in fact Israel treats Muslim children from Gaza in Israeli hospitals. Three thousand, 3000, Gazan children have had heart surgery in Israel.
In their desire to report honest journalism, has CTV reported on the rifles found in children’s teddy bears in a Gaza school?
Did Sachedina report on the Israeli men and boys who were raped?
Did Sachedina report on this? ISIS language on the “Palestinian” flag. The map on the back of his jacket shows all of Israel wiped out – flame and weapons next to it – and made into an Islamic state.
Dangerous Fake News takes place because journalists do not investigate before they report; or worse, they investigate and choose not to report.
