Self-righteous Jews, if you want to make the world a better place, Tikkun Olam, as you incorrectly practice it, stand up for Israel first.  Defend this tiny but mighty nation. Don’t appease the haters by bullying her or applying Jewish guilt.

When I was 8 years old my school principal bullied me. And this remains a screen memory for me. Because I know it was at that moment that I decided that no one would ever be allowed to bully my children (Always planning ahead). I told my children that I would always protect them-but if they had been naughty-they would hear about it when we got home! I think of Am Yisrael as my children. And perpetually bullied-not that she can’t stand up for herself- but we must stand with her.

I write this after reading a post from Sarah Tuttle-Singer.

I haven’t heard about her or read anything of hers for years and now she appears on my timeline. Lots of controversy comes with her.

I first found her when I was blogging for Times of Israel. When I first read her blogs I was taken away by the lyricism of her words. She has a way of inviting you in. Her style of writing then was mesmerizing. But her content? I stopped reading STS long before I stopped writing for the Times of Israel.

In the piece that showed up on my timeline she asked “Is Hatikva racist?” as it excludes Arabs. Of all that is happening in Israel, the attacks on her borders, I was fascinated with the fact that she chose this topic upon which to expound.

Unlike the Muslim daily prayer, the Al Fatiha, which demeans, denigrates and disrespects Christians and Jews, the Hatikva is a positive, hopeful call to a people who have been under attack for millennia. It is the National Anthem of the …Jewish state!

As long as the Jewish spirit is yearning deep in the heart,

With eyes turned toward the East, looking toward Zion,

Then our hope – the two-thousand-year-old hope – will not be lost:

To be a free people in our land,

The land of Zion and Jerusalem.

Not to be confused with the “Palestinian” anthem:

Warrior, warrior, warrior,
Oh my land, the land of the ancestors
Warrior, warrior, warrior,
Oh my people, people of eternity

With my determination, my fire and the volcano of my vendetta
With the longing in my blood for my land and my home
I have climbed the mountains and fought the wars
I have conquered the impossible, and crossed the frontiers

With the resolve of the winds and the fire of the weapons
And the determination of my nation in the land of struggle
Palestine is my home, and the path of my triumphal
(Palestine is my home, Palestine is my fire,)
Palestine is my vendetta and the land of withstanding

By the oath under the shade of the flag
By my land and nation, and the fire of pain
I will live as a warrior, I will remain a warrior,
I will die as a warrior – until my country returns

Warrior

For another comparison, here is the Nazi anthem:

The flag high! The ranks tightly closed!
SA marches with a calm, firm pace.
Comrades whom Red Front and Reaction shot dead
March in spirit within our ranks.
[Make] The street free for the brown battalions;
[Make] The street free for the SA man!
Already millions are looking to the swastika, full of hope;
The day of freedom and bread is dawning.
Rollcall has sounded for the last time!
We are all prepared for the fight!
Soon Hitler-flags will flutter over barricades.
Our servitude will not last much longer now!
The flag high! The ranks tightly closed!
SA marches with a calm, firm pace.
Comrades whom Red Front and Reaction shot dead
March in spirit within our ranks.

No one is forcing Arabs and non-Jews to live in Israel. They are free people, there, too. And anyone can leave. Can’t say that about every country! And for Arabs, especially Muslims, there are 60 other countries in the world where they can feel at home. There is only one Jewish state. And that Jewish state does not have to ensure that everyone feels good. Israel’s obligation as the originator of the extraordinary, miraculous ethic that makes freedom possible, is to insure that all people are treated equally.

Sarah Tuttle Singer, like so many others whom I call self-righteous Jews; including but not exclusive to Bernie Sanders, Noam Chomsky, Natalie Portman, Sarah Silverman and her sister, a Reform Rabbi,  Bernie Farber,  J Street Jews, Jewish Voice for Peace, The New Israel Fund, B’Tselem, ADL (Jason Greenblatt),  American Jewish World Service, National Council of Jewish Women, all  remind me of that time in the Principals’ office. But in this case, after the child has been bullied, the mother speaks out loud for all to hear as she asks her child,

“So what did you do to deserve being bullied?”

I have written a great deal about these Jew-hating Jews, Uncle Tom Jews, and now I think of many of them as guilt inducing self-righteous Jews who seem to feel they must berate Israel-in public. They have internalized the guilt others throw on them for not being “caring enough” about everyone else, when almost everyone else does not show the same care to the Jews!

It is an abuse of Jewish guilt. Using guilt to make Jews feel bad about the fact that we have a state. That we live!

There are 7 billion people in the world. Almost 4 billion are innately, systemically and endemically antisemitic because they have been raised bathed and swaddled in Jew hatred from birth for thousands of years. They have, what Richard Dawkins calls, a cultural meme. It’s in the blood.

There are only 14 million Jews because we have been persecuted, prosecuted, pogromed, ghettoized, expelled, inquisitioned and then the ultimate act of depravity; put into ovens while the rest of the world stood by watching in silence.

The world was shocked and said “Never Again.” Well, words don’t mean that much. Actions do, and, today, I am sad to say that #ITIS1939ALLOVERAGAIN

Antisemitism lives in anti-Israel rhetoric. Israel is not perfect. No country is perfect. But it is closer to perfect than the vast majority of countries in the world today. Israel practices the Jewish ethic better than anyone else. Have you taken a look at the Middle East and most of Africa lately? How about China or Russia? Cuba? Venezuela?  North Korea?

I understand the desire to perfect the world and there are Jews who believe it should happen in Israel, first. But we will never be perfect. Perfection belongs to God. But the Jewish people continue to strive for that perfection while others try to destroy her.

All reports say that Jew hatred is up higher than ever before all over the world.

Let me repeat that. Jew hatred is up higher than ever before all over the world. And with social media, Jew haters can gather together and share that hate. And that hate comes from the left and right. Look what the Jews have accomplished. We have brought the left and right together! And sadly far too much of that hatred, today, comes from the Muslim world.

B’nai Brith Canada’s Annual Audit of Antisemitic Incidents reports that 2017 was the second consecutive year in which record numbers were reached. The authoritative study on antisemitism in Canada, the Audit recorded 1,752 incidents, a 1.4 per cent overall increase nationally compared to 2016.

It was in antisemitic vandalism, however, where there was a whopping national increase of 107 per cent, reaching levels unseen in Canada since 2013. Homes, schools, parks and highways were defaced by Nazi graffiti and antisemitic epithets, including swastikas and hate signs suggesting “Hitler Was Right,” “Jewry Must Perish,” and “Die Jew Bitch.”

In 2017, Germany, GERMANY, saw an average of four anti-Semitic crimes per day.

There has been a 57% surge in antisemitic events in America. The United States of America; Brooklyn, to Illinois where a Professor tweeted “I said the Jews act like Nazis.”

And then there is  France where French Jews face ethnic cleansing.

Self-righteous Jews, if you want to make the world a better place, Tikkun Olam, as you incorrectly practice it, stand up for Israel first.  Defend this tiny but mighty nation. Don’t appease the haters by bullying her or applying Jewish guilt.

As Winston Churchill pointed out:

An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile hoping it will eat him last

From the Ethics of the Fathers: “Rabbi Tarfon used to say, it is not incumbent upon you to complete the task, but you are not exempt from undertaking it.”
