Not too long ago I sent a missive to the CBC, the Globe and Mail, the Toronto Star and the National Post; four major mainstream media outlets in Canada, asking for their working definition of Islamophobia. After all how does one call another an Islamophobe if there is no definition to which one can refer? I heard back from the Globe and Mail and Toronto Star. They have no definition. The National Post and the CBC refused to answer.
But I did discover a definition that is accepted by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights.
- Islam as seen as a single monolithic bloc, static and unresponsive to new realities.
- Islam as seen as separate and other; not having any aims or values in common with other cultures; not affected by them; not influencing them
- Islam as seen as inferior to the West – barbaric, irrational, primitive, sexist.
- Islam as seen as violent, aggressive, threatening, supportive of terrorism, engaged in ‘a clash of civilisations’.
- Islam as seen as a political ideology, used for political or military advantage.
- Criticisms made by Islam of ‘the West’ rejected out of hand
- Hostility towards Islam is used to justify discriminatory practices towards Muslims and exclusion of Muslims from mainstream society.
- Anti-Muslim hostility is accepted as natural and ‘normal’.
This definition that you just read is 20 years old. TWENTY YEARS OLD. Written before 9/11. Before massive Muslim terror attacks throughout Europe. Here. Here. And here.
And before Captain Cirilo was murdered in Canada.
It comes from the Runnymede Trust, an independent race equality think-tank that today is run by Dr. Omar Khan.
A definition as broad and wide as this made it possible over the past 20 years for Islam to push its way into Western Culture with a free pass. And it puts great pressure on non-Muslims to find ways of criticizing without being accused of Islamophobia. It has reached a stage where some are suggesting the formation of separate Islamic states within France, from which Jews are fleeing in vast numbers.
French intellectual, Christian Moliner, recently suggested that France should establish a Muslim state-within-a-state that adheres to sharia law, inside the borders of France, to avoid a civil war. Warning against refusing to deal with the problems of Islamism in Europe because of political correctness, he stated:
“Out of the fear of appearing Islamophobic, to satisfy this bustling fringe of Muslims, governments are ready to accept the spread of radical practices throughout the country…. [some] territories are outside the control of the Republic. The police can come only in force and for limited durations… We can never convert the 30% of Muslims who demand the introduction of sharia law to the merits of our democracy and secularism. We are now allowing segregation to take place that does not say its name.”
I suggest that fear of being accused of Islamophobia has tamped down the facts about the spread of Islam throughout Europe and denying these facts is harming all of us in the free world which is getting smaller every year.
Main stream media in Canada and the USA don’t report on events, like this, in Europe.
MIGRANT youth gangs have turned Sweden’s largest shopping centre Nordstan into a “no-go zone” as they intimidate police, harass girls and deal drugs openly. The news reports avoid the word “Muslim” despite the fact that these gangs are from Afghanistan, Syria, and Moroccan street children.
The admission that Nordstan has become a lawless hotspot comes as Swedish police last year issued a report where it detailed incidents from more than 55 areas which it branded as “no-go zones”.It detailed brutal attacks on police, sexual assaults, children carrying weapons and general turmoil sweeping across the country.
In Malmo Sweden, Sweden’s third-largest city Muslims demonstrators took to the streets, shouting slogans about killing or shooting Jews.
And then Muslims firebombed a synagogue in Gothenburg.
In Amsterdam a Muslim refugee screaming “Allahu Akbar” smashed the windows of a Jewish restaurant,HaCarmel’s,while police watched.
A school in the German town of Lüneburg, has rescheduled a Christmas celebration after a Muslim student said its songs are incompatible with Islam.
You will notice that these examples are not up to date. I had saved them for an article. I decided to remind everyone of past incidents. We have forgotten.
There are also concerns expressed about Sharia Law negatively affecting Muslim women in Britain.
Judith Bergman wrote about the new culture in Europe that has been radically affected by Islam.
A poll conducted this summer found that 29% of French Muslims found Sharia to be more important to them than French laws. It also found that 67% of Muslims want their children to study Arabic, and 56% think it should be taught in public schools.
French President Emmanuel Macron blamed France, not Islam, for the increased radicalization, which he said should lead France to “question itself.”
A 2016 UK poll showed that 43% of British Muslims “believed that parts of the Islamic legal system should replace British law while only 22 per cent opposed the idea”. Another poll from 2016 found that 23% of all Muslims supported the introduction of sharia law in some areas of Britain, 39% agreed that “wives should always obey their husbands,” and 52% of all British Muslims believe that homosexuality should be illegal
There is a conspiracy on the part of European governments and media to omit mentioning that the perpetrators are Muslim.The European Federation of Journalists (EJF), the largest organization of journalists in Europe, representing more than 320,000 journalists in 71 journalists’ organizations across 43 countries is leading a Europe-wide campaign called “Media against Hate.”
The EU is openly working at influencing the “free press” with its own political agendas.In France, Germany and Sweden.
And this refusal to name the actors is an act of dhimmitude, helped by Islamophobia.
Islam is not in the West by accident. The Muslim Brotherhood is a worldwide Islamist organization founded in Egypt in 1928 by Hassan al-Banna who sought to implement Sharia-based governance globally. Its motto is:
“Allah is our objective, the Prophet is our leader, the Qur’an is our law, jihad is our way, dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.”
The Muslim Brotherhood is dedicated to creating an Islamic civilization that harks back to the caliphates of the 7th and 8th centuries, one that would segregate women from public life and scorn nonbelievers.
And in America the Ikhwan [Muslim Brotherhood] must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within.
Some federal agents in America worry that the Muslim Brotherhood has dangerous links to terrorism while other U.S. diplomats and intelligence officials believe its influence offers an opportunity for political engagement that could help isolate violent jihadists.
“It is the preeminent movement in the Muslim world,” said Graham E. Fuller, a former CIA official specializing in the Middle East. “It’s something we can work with.” Demonizing the Brotherhood “would be foolhardy in the extreme,” he warned.
This slow abduction of the West is the result of our acquiescence to demands made by Islam and the waning of our moral courage. This slow but steady decimation of our values has been assisted by well-meaning progressives who so desperately want to believe that all peoples have our morals, values and ethics. They don’t. This is not a criticism of the beliefs of others but a statement of fact.
We are being held hostage by a definition that is 20 years old and have learned well to self-edit.
