I guess the mistake Ms. Solomon made was talking about Islam after leaving. And the media has no interest at all. They only come out for “hate speech” AKA Islamophobia. Death threats? Not so much.
Not too long ago Canadian and ex-Muslim Sandra Solomon ripped the Koran and put pages under the windshield wiper of the cars belonging to Muslims attending prayer at Dar Al-Tawheed Islamic Centre outside Toronto. She had done this at other mosques.
Rabia Khedr, executive director of the Muslim Council of Peel (MCP),said (March 25 2018) that Solomon is a known “Islamophobe and anti-Muslim activist” who has been travelling across the country and has disrupted a “handful” of mosques in the Peel region” Peel Regional Police Const. Bally Saini told Global News on Sunday that investigators from 12 Division are aware of “three similar incidents at this time, which all occurred on Thursday.
They are looking into the complaints and are treating the incidents as “hate-motivated.” Ms. Solomon has expressed the opinion that the Koran is hate speech.
The mayor of Mississauga says she is “disgusted and disturbed” by the incident.
“I am disgusted and disturbed by these hate-filled actions that have occurred in our city,” Bonnie Crombie said at a news conference at Mississauga City Hall.
“We have no tolerance for any intolerance in our city,” she said, adding that she stands in solidarity with all faiths in condemning these incidents.
Where are all these righteous individuals when derogatory comments are made about Christians and Christianity? Or Jew hatred?
The main stream media (MSM) was all over it.
How dare Solomon? Hate speech!
She was a Muslim and at some point in her life she left and converted to Christianity. Something happened to her that led to her actions. Did anyone ask? It seems that there is little empathy for women who leave Islam. Women like Ayaan Hirsi Ali who faced this in 2002!
Could we not have given Solomon some slack- a safe space for her?
Have you heard about the death threats levelled against Sandra? It happened in Calgary. The police went to her and read to her the threats that were made against her.
Not all of you will feel an affinity for the people who posted this video. My concern is the MESSAGE not the messenger.
Sandra and the cops at the time is now Sara Smith

I don’t recall one word from MSM. When did death threats become less important than shredding a religious book?
What has happened to our values? To the idea that all life is sacred?
And these threats to Sandra are not from medieval sources. Here is Dr. Jonathan A. C. Brown, the Director of Research at Yaqeen Institute, and an Associate Professor and Chair of Islamic Civilization at Georgetown University explaining the rules about death threats. He is the editor in chief of the Oxford Encyclopedia of Islam and the Law, and the author of several books including Misquoting Muhammad: The Challenges and Choices of Interpreting the Prophet’s Legacy. He explains apostasy and the death penalty.
“Scholars like Yūsuf al-Qaraḍāwī have therefore compared the punishment for apostasy to the modern crime of treason.[49] Al-Qaraḍāwī explains that there is no punishment for an individual’s decision to stop believing in Islam, since the Quran makes clear that “there is no compulsion in religion” (Quran 2:256). Only those who combine their leaving Islam with a public attempt to undermine the stability of the Muslim community can be punished for ridda. Al-Qaraḍāwī introduces the distinction between ‘transgressive apostasy (al-ridda al-mutaʿaddiyya)’ and ‘non-transgressive apostasy (al-ridda al-qāṣira).’ The former, in which a Muslim renounces their faith in a way that actively encourages others to do so or that undermines stability, is subject to the apostasy punishment. One who simply leaves Islam or embraces another religion privately is left alone.[50]
Apostates can face death threats from Muslims and scorn from the left.
To help create a community and support group for such individuals, Sarah Haider and Muhammad Syed formed the Ex-Muslims of North America (EXMNA) in 2013, as a nonprofit foundation.
“Given the dangers associated with leaving Islam, many apostates never “come out,” and thus have to live a life hiding their true beliefs. Our communities give this hidden and persecuted population a space where they can be true to themselves — where they can share their struggles, receive advice, and temporarily escape any struggles awaiting them at home.”
