The self-serving, sanctimonious Doug Saunders, opiner for the Globe and Mail in Canada, is reporting from Germany that Trump is a lot like Hitler, calling on the federal Troops to quell “peaceful”protests by the group known as Antifa, as Hitler did in the 1930’s when he called out the troops to go after the leaders of the Social Democrats. Nothing like faking riots to get out the Feds and take over a country! According to Saunders, Antifa has become Donald Trump’s name of choice for a vague conspiracy somehow linked to the Democrat Party and to protests against racial discrimination. Heaven forbid that Trump label such an organization a terrorist group (It was Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), alongside Bill Cassidy (R-La.), who introduced a resolution that would label antifascist activists a domestic terrorist group, a move that some critics argue could open the door to overly broad enforcement due to the group’s leaderless structure); after all according to Saunders it is nothing more than an inchoate self-identify for local street fighters who pose no larger threat. Not even in Canada, Mr. Saunders? Saturday August 1, 2020 in Toronto, in addition to BLM protestors calling for the end of prisons, Antifa were spotted in the crowd of approximately 500. I think Andy Ngo would differ with your views coming from Germany rather than on site.

Who in your merry merry month of May? Existing research shows the COVID-19 pandemic and accompanying economic devastation are expected to have large-scale  effects on overall mental health, including an increase in suicide. In 2019, 2.5% of Canadians reported having had suicidal thoughts within the previous year. In comparison, in the thick of the pandemic in May, this survey found that 1 in 20 Canadians (6%) had recently experienced thoughts or feelings of suicide as a result of the pandemic. That was May. This is August.

Who by barbiturate? Who by his own hand?

Suicides have spiked amid the coronavirus pandemic, specifically among high school students. “Self-harm is the No. 2 cause of death among teenagers after accidents. Kills thousands a year. “We’re seeing, sadly, far greater suicides now than we are deaths from COVID,” director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Redfield said at the time. “We’re seeing far greater deaths from drug overdose that are above excess that we had as background than we are seeing the deaths from COVID.”

According to a recent article in The Washington Post, suspected overdoses jumped nationally 18 percent in March, 29 percent in April and 42 percent in May, Nationwide, federal and local officials are reporting alarming spikes in drug overdoses — a hidden epidemic within the coronavirus pandemic. Emerging evidence suggests that the continued isolation, economic devastation and disruptions to the drug trade in recent months are fueling the surge. But data obtained by The Washington Post from a real-time tracker of drug-related emergency calls and interviews with coroners suggest that overdoses have not just increased since the pandemic began but are accelerating as it persists. Overdoses increased up to 42% per month during the pandemic, as compared to the same months in 2019.

As the pandemic has pushed massive doses of fear, uncertainty, anxiety and depression into people’s lives, it has cut off the human connections that help ease those burdens. Additionally, unemployment due to COVID-19 compounded the problem.

Who by greed? All of our politicians knew that our elderly in care homes were at high risk. But something held them back form caring for our elderly in Canada. Money? In Quebec  concerns were raised about private care homes.

A snapshot of senior care as of May 25, Long Term Care residents made up 81 per cent of all reported COVID-19 deaths in  Canada compared to an average of 42 per cent among all countries studied. LTC deaths represented more than 70 per cent of all COVID-19 deaths in Quebec, Ontario and Alberta and 97 per cent of all deaths in Nova Scotia. June 1 reports of LTC deaths totalled 6,007, or 82 per cent of deaths. It seems we talk about caring for our elderly but that’s as far as it goes. Or went.

Who by accident? We knew from Italy that the elderly, especially in elder care homes, were most vulnerable but in March, under Gov. Cuomo, more than 4,500 recovering coronavirus patients were sent to New York’s already vulnerable nursing homes(March 25 directive). An accident?  The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine, known as AMDA, had warned from the beginning that Cuomo’s order admitting infected patients posed a “clear and present danger” to nursing home residents. “the effect of that order was to contribute to 5,000 deaths.”

Eighty percent of people who have died of COVID-19 in the U.S. to date were age 65 or older, though the share varies considerably by state — from a high of 94 percent in Idaho to a low of 70 percent in the District of Columbia.

Nationally, more than 35,500 people have died from coronavirus outbreaks at nursing homes and long-term care facilities, about a third of the overall death toll.

Who by solitude? Think of the number of people, especially the elderly, who died in solitude. No family allowed for months beforehand. No funerals either.  Religious ceremonies in houses of worship; absolutely not.  And mourning was done in solitude. Unless you are special. Then the rules changed. There was a great funeral for John Lewis. In a church. Hundreds there to send him off , share stories, mourn, together. No one else was allowed a church service. Just Lewis.

Who by power? How many mayors have called for defunding the police? How many people have been murdered or injured because of those actions in Seattle and Portland, Atlanta, Chicago?

And power shut down voices calling for the use of hydroxychloroquine. Doctors silenced. Their YouTube videos taken down.

As a result, tens of thousands of patients with COVID-19 are dying unnecessarily. Fortunately, the situation can be reversed easily and quickly.”

Who shall I say is calling?

Death. Death is calling. Death by the hundreds of thousands worldwide because of a dangerous virus released around the world that came from a lab in China.

And the possible death of America, the greatest ever experiment in democracy being brought down by left-wing socialist ideology.
