During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes revolutionary: George Orwell.

I recently read this article :Trump and other politicians empower anti-Semitism in Canada, says Liberal MP.

On November 7, 2018, PM Trudeau apologized to the Jewish community for Jew hatred.  And Liberal MP Anthony Featherhead, a Quebec MP, decided that this was the time to castigate Donald Trump for the rise of antisemitism in America.

“Housefather said that Trump was not the only politician turning a blind eye to racist and anti-Semitic actions and statements. In a subsequent email to CBC News, he identified British Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn as another politician whose public words — or lack of them — empower anti-Semitism.”.

For those of you unaware of Canadian history, Quebec is the most antisemitic province in Canada. It’s because of Quebec and the need to appease the Québecois, that William Lyon Mackenzie King, the Liberal PM of the time agreed that when it came to the Jews, none is too many. In 1976, with the rise of nationalism-the worst kind, Jews fled the province because of the antisemitic rhetoric of the sovereignty party.

And the article with Housfeathers’s statement comparing Corbyn, and his classic antisemitism, to Trump led to me realize, that yes, these two politicians are responsible for the rise in Jew hatred, but not for the reason stated by Housefeather, and so many others on the left.

One calls for hatred of the Jews, while proudly associating with Muslim terrorists. The other’s love of Israel has led to a backlash from the left and the right. Stay with me as I explain.

Let’s look at Jeremy Corbyn, first. His party is the home of Jew hatred. This from the party once led by Tony Blair, and Harold Wilson. Corbyn is accused of promoting antisemitism  and most of his MPs are proud of his work.

How do I know that the endemic antisemitism is so ingrained in his party?

“British police have opened an investigation into allegations of anti-Semitic hate crimes within the Labour Party.

The move… comes after a dossier of information detailing 45 cases of anti-Semitism was handed over to police by London-based radio station LBC last month.

Think about that. A major political party in Britain under investigation for antisemitism. In the 21st century.

Those who innately hate Jews proudly found a home in the Labour Party. No shame required.

Then there is Donald Trump. I agree, with his rise to President of the USA, antisemitism has rebounded:  from the left; because they need to blame someone for their hate .Blame Trump because there’s no longer an official home for normalized Jew hatred in the White House, which came from the Obama years. And they so miss it.

Let’s take a look at the eight years of President Barack Obama, the leader of the Democratic Party: once home to those who fought against the abolition of slavery, the Emancipation Proclamation and Civil rights.

Barack Obama promoted the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.  He refused to attack Assad when he used gas on his own people, which led to the conflagration in the Middle East and the rise of ISIS and Islamic Terrorism. He interfered in the elections in Israel in an attempt to take down the right wing party of Netanhayu in order to get a government more amenable to his idea of peace in the Middle East.

He promoted the leaders of the Palestinian Authority.

Obama said  March 17, 2014:

“I have to commend President Abbas. He has been somebody who has consistently renounced violence, has consistently sought a diplomatic and peaceful solution that allows for two states, side by side, in peace and security; a state that allows for the dignity and sovereignty of the Palestinian people and a state that allows for Israelis to feel secure and at peace with their neighbors”?

Obama is the only president to abandon Israel at the UN when he refused to veto UN Resolution 2334 which declared that Jerusalem and the Wailing Wall were not Jewish-but Palestinian, and that areas in Judea/Samaria did not belong legally and historically to the Jewish people but rather to the ”Palestinian” people- a people that suddenly came into world consciousness in the 1960’s with the push by  Russia to promote Arafat and his “people.”

Obama is the president who gave billions to Iran, a country that under his watch constantly called for death to Israel and death to America always burning their flags. Democrat, Louis Farrakhan was just in Iran pandering to the Ayatollahs.  Are we to assume that Obama  was so ignorant that he did not think that Iran would use the funds for terrorism rather than helping their own people? Is that the excuse? I find that frightening. I’d  rather believe that he knew full well what he was doing-opening the gates of hell in the Middle East and promoting  terror attacks on Israel-the only safe space for all people-no matter race, colour, creed, religion sexual orientation, unlike  the 23 surrounding Muslim countries who have no tolerance for the other-any “other.”

Obama catered to the Jew haters.

Under Obama there was freedom to attack Israel as an apartheid state. Churches jumped on the bandwagon. Campuses promoted BDS, boycott divest and sanction, of Israel. “Journalists” were, and remain, licking their chops. How could antisemites not love him?

His policies made it possible for Linda Sarsour to become the darling of the Democrats and women. He remains associated with Linda Sarsour and Farrakhan. His polices allowed the Democrats to promote Keith Ellison. His open disdain for Israel also emboldened Tamika Mallory, Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Leslie Cockburn, Louis Farrakhan, Black Lives Matter and Students for Justice in Palestine, among others.

Under the Presidency of Barack Obama anti-Zionism became normalized. The 21st century edition of antisemitism.

And along came Donald Trump, accused by the left and their propaganda arm; the media, of being an anti-Semite.  Projection? A need for a fall-guy? More times than I care to remember, the left has compared Trump to Hitler and white nationalists. From Jane Fonda to Michael Moore.  The Media; from CNN’s Acosta  to  March 2016, when the Washington Post editorial board told readers,

“You don’t have to go back to history’s most famous example, Adolf Hitler to understand that authoritarian rulers can achieve power through the ballot box.”

And members of Congress. Democratic Rep. James Clyburn,S.C., in January this year said,

“Having studied history and having taught history, I can only equate one period of time with what we are experiencing now and that was what was going on in Germany around 1934 right after the 1932 elections when Adolf Hitler was elected chancellor.”

And so many agree. Why? Why do they choose to believe that Trump is like Hitler and hates Jews?

During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes revolutionary: George Orwell.

And because the Jew haters need a cover. The left will never acknowledge Obama’s part so they blame Trump. And the right, who believed the media that Trump was an antisemite, must feel betrayed and so have carried on with their Jew hatred.

Trump is a man who comes from a family who supported Jews at a time when Jews were attacked in America; for the crime of being Jewish. His father gave money to build an orthodox synagogue, and father supported Jews in business.

Rabbi Wagner shares the incredible story of how Donald Trump’s father, Frederick Trump, built a shul (Orthodox synagogue) for the congregation, headed by his father, Rabbi Yisrael Wagner, and how Trump went  on to make annual donations of funding for the kehilla (local  Jewish community)  and to aid Jewish families in financial distress.

Fred proceeded to donate a piece of real estate for the shul, and he even made a very generous donation so that a magnificent shul building could be built.”

Rabbi Wagner adds that over time, Fred Trump’s donations grew progressively more generous. “Sometimes, my father would tell him about various Jewish families in the area who were needy, and he would give large sums to help them as well.”

Donald Trump opened a golf course to the Jews.

The problem as I see it is that Trump took down every anti-Israel policy of Obama. And that has angered and riled up the left. Under Obama they knew that Israel was a pariah state. Not anymore. Trump is the only western leader to stand with Israel. His biggest change in policy was withdrawing from Obama’s Iran deal. Unlike Obama whose first trip to the Middle East was his apology tour to many Muslim countries, Israel was one of Trump’s first international visits after coming into office, with only Saudi Arabia coming before.

After promises made and broken by previous Presidents, Trump moved the American embassy to Jerusalem.  As the embassy opened on May 14, Trump declared it a “great day for Israel” as his daughter Ivanka arrived at a plush ceremony to mark the US embassy’s controversial move.  The Sun in the UK actually asked about his religion!

But his greatest turnaround from the Obama years was his refusal to allow the UN to continue to attack Israel. He left UNESCO and UNRWA  and withdrew from the UN human rights council. He refused to fund the PA because they took the money and paid for terrorists to murder Jews.  Obama had been well aware of Abbas’ policies.Obama never missed an opportunity to promote Islam and demean Israel.

The Corbyn and Trump statements and policies do lead to increased Jew hatred, but for entirely different reasons.

Corbyn encourages and promotes hate for Israel and in some cases for Zionists/Jews giving Zionist/Jew haters free reign, while Trump’s love of Israel, after eight years of anti-Israel Obama, has led to a backlash from the antisemitic left, which included the election of two anti-Israel/ anti-Zionism Muslims to Congress in America. They won’t  blame the leader of this hate; their, pardon the expression, White Knight,Obama. Easier and more politically correct to blame Trump.

Two leaders from two countries: Corbyn and Trump. Two different views on Israel and the Jews. The same outcome. A rise in Jew hatred.

Think about that.
